TOPICS by Millerpedia

For 65 years I have saved newspaper and magazine/journal articles of interest in what grew to become 113 topics. The topics vary greatly in size, with large collections for Civil Rights USA and Vietnam, both very contentious in the 1960’s and 1970’s. However, this collection is a work in progress. Although perhaps 25,000 scans have been completed, perhaps twice that many articles and photographs have not as yet been scanned, with the result that this collection will continuously grow over time. It will also include documents from my 50-year career as an Urban Planner in 10 countries.
My intention is that this historical record must be preserved and made available as an educational resource. In effect, this is a collection of knowledge as I have come across it. In that sense, it is not a definitive collection on any given topic, but only what has come my way. I lived in Appleton, Wisconsin 1943-67, and articles from that time are from newspapers and magazines available locally. I subsequentially lived in Cincinnati, Atlanta, Mobile, and Philadelphia, and clipped articles from the local newspapers. During my 40 years in Africa and Asia I saved articles from both the locations concerned and also from the International Herald Tribune. Thus, this collection is unique in its coverage – it is the world as seen by John Miller.
